Theo at 17 months

There was no February 29th...does that mean I can suspend time and my little boy will stop growing up???  As the time goes on with Theo it seems like each month is more and more monumental towards his growth.  He is keeping us BOTH on our toes!

"Helping" Dad lay carpet down in the playrom
Height:  ~32 inches

I kept saying when we moved, "he can reach a lot in our new house."  The reality is that he is just taller.  It's the same stuff, but he can reach onto more and more surfaces and climb on to more and more things.  We'll be anchoring the bookcases and tv to the wall soon.

Weight:  ~25 lbs
Somedays this feels like a ton, and other days still light as a feather, although I'm sure when BK2 gets here Theo will feel even heavier.

Passport Entries:
At 17 months, Theo is quite the traveler.  He has been to Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, South Dakota, and North Dakota!

Theo is getting more and more vocal and has many words.  We are working with him on short phrases and he's been picking up on "thank you."  He can also identify several body parts now (head, nose, ears, eyes, mouth, tummy, toes).  My next goal is to start on colors and letters.  He's also getting really good at understanding (except for when you say "no", but I think it's selective understanding).  The other day I told him to get his pacifier off the couch because we were going for nap. He went and got the pacifier and went to his room to wait for me!  Yay Theo!  In our new house I'm trying to use the names of lots of things so he'll learn those new words.  He's doing great.  :)

A new hiding space just for Theo
It's hard for me to scold him sometimes because I love watching his brain work and process things, and problem solve.  The kid is a climber, and a beginner climber.  I know I shouldn't let him climb on coffee tables and speakers, but sometimes watching him explore different ways to get on and off these obstacles is fascinating.  Yesterday he tipped over the laundry basket and used it to climb on the coffee table and then on to the couch.  I wish Minot had more indoor playgrounds, but we haven't heard of any yet.  He'll probably be really exploitative the next time we can go to an outdoor park.  They had a toddler tumbling class on base, but you have to be 2...so I'm excited for next winter that he'll be big enough to do things like that.

New big kid haircut-by dad
Theo now has 10 teeth and it's the cutest grin.  Usually signifying he's getting into something.  His appetite is still strong!  He would eat bananas and blueberries all day long if I let him.  He's also learned that mommy and daddy have good treats lying around the house that he'll try to sneak if he can.

Everyday is more and more of an adventure.  It's becoming a more exhausting adventure, but it's so cool to see him growing into this little boy!
