Bubba gunna be a biggun'

Mason got home at the beginning of the month (WOOHOO) and we have been in baby mode ever since he got back. While he was gone I set-up the pack-n-play by myself, but most of the rest required Mason's strength and heavy lifting abilities. When went shopping around when he got home and we set-up our crib, got the baby room in some order, washed clothes we had been given, and he got to see all the wonderful presents I got at my showers while he was gone.

I'm 34 weeks along now, which means 6 weeks or lesson until BK arrives! It has been going so fast lately. One of the best parts of Mason being home is that he is getting to feel baby kicks and see my belly move all around- BK is one active baby!!! Starting at the beginning of August my OB wanted to start seeing me weekly to monitor my blood pressure. I have borderline high blood pressure most of the time and at my appointment in early August I had shown the first signs of some weight gain, plus elevated blood pressure. I got to do a super fun 24 hour urine analysis (the same weekend Mason got home), which turned out to be "normal" and there were no signs that the elevated BP was pregnancy related. However, my doctor wants to be on the safe side, so Mason and I have been getting to go to the OB weekly and I get set-up with the baby monitor on my belly and I lay listening to BK's heart thump away. My blood pressure has been low/normal at these appointments which means she is letting me continue to work.

On Wednesday of this week we went back to a baby heart specialist whom we had seen at 19 weeks into the pregnancy. BK's little heart had a gap, VSD, and the blood basically was flowing between the chambers. The doctor said this is what is also known as a hole in the heart or a heart murmur. Of course Mason and I were very concerned about this, but we were told in about 50% of the cases the heart hearls by 34 weeks. When we went in on Wednesday the heart was strong and all healed up!!!! I may have shed a tear at the good feelings and relief this brought to us.

The specialist isn't the most friendly man; he's very to the point. So when he entered his office he said there was good news and bad news. The good was that the heart had healed and he was very pleased, the "bad" was the BK is already weighing 7lbs. 7oz! I was pretty shocked and amazed to hear this, becasue I have only gained 10-15lbs during this pregnancy and while I feel like I've definitely got the baby bump, I don't feel HUGE! The doctor was concerned because with 6 weeks left to go that could put BK at a large birth weight (gaining approximately half a lb. a week until birth). The seed of a C-section was planted, but I am hoping at my appointment on Monday with my normal OB we can discuss the plans I have originally set in my mind. Trying not to think about a C-section as an option, but also reminding myself that in the end whatever it takes to deliver a healthy baby is what will be best.

Either way- Mason and I are so happy that all is going so well. We still don't know if BK is a boy or a girl, but I think we have narrowed down some names...which of course, are secrets!
