Wedding day! I’m so
glad that we were able to plan this whole trip and make it out West for my
cousin Clara’s wedding. As my Aunt Karen
said (even after several drinks) this was the focal point of our trip, and
really it was.
We got up in the morning and the kids couldn’t wait to see
Gram and Grandpa! Mason took the kids
out to see my parents and let them snack on breakfast and play in the grassy
area by the hotel while I got to shower and get dressed all.by.myself!!! I may have taken a little longer than
necessary and enjoyed a few moments of precious quiet. The kids had so much time playing with my
parents! This was what Theo had been
waiting for the whole time. J
We decided to head to a park about 5 minutes from our hotel
so the kids could have a change of scenery, and so my dad could be near boats
and the water. The ocean was at low
tide, so it was interesting to watch the tide slowly come in as we were playing
at the park. We had a nice visit while
the boys played, and then we found a few shells so we took Theo to walk along
the pier where he decided to throw them into the water.
Bubba’s Burger was a highly rated food truck, conveniently
located right next to the hotel that we checked out for lunch. The kids had hot dogs that were HUGE. Because the bees were out and we had been in
the sun, we all convened in my parents room for lunch. Woodrow did his walk laps while eating
routine. Lunch was filling and before we
knew it, it was time to head down to get our room, the kids, and ourselves
ready for the wedding. The kids needed
baths, the room needed picking up, and I was going to attempt to actually style
my hair (didn’t happen).
One of the bridesmaid’s sisters and a friend were coming to
our hotel to watch our two boys and three other children (my cousins’
kids). We were a little nervous about
this since our kids didn’t know the sitters or the cousins, and they’d be stuck
in the hotel room for hours. We ordered
pizza for everyone and it seems like while there were some wild times, everyone
did okay for the evening. Someday
Woodrow is really going to get Theo back for all the pushing, head bopping, and
knocking down.
