When Things Don't go as Planned

This week Theo's been hinting at a sore throat, slight sniffle, and when we picked him up from school yesterday he was in tears that his ears hurt and he didn't feel good.  He came home, Mason gave him a dose of Motrin and he went straight to sleep and slept until this morning.  He ended up missing his Cub Scouts Raingutter Regatta, but little brother Woodrow was able to snag a patch for Theo and I'm sure Theo will have fun playing with the boat he built.

We'd originally planned to take the kids to a "May the 4th be with you" Star Wars event today, but it was cancelled.  As Theo's recently fallen in love with sports, we also saw that this morning there was going to be a promotion where the Chicago Bears Quarterback, Mitch Trubitsky was going to be taking photos and doing a meet and greet.  We were all set to go, but Theo woke up feeling really under the weather and didn't want to go.  After an hour of discussion we decided not to go.  Meanwhile, Maximus is bouncing off the walls with energy...because he's two...and Woodrow was in meltdown mode because Mason put blueberries on his breakfast plate and later had his ipad taken away.

Things just did not go as planned.  What started as fun family morning, quickly turned into everyone being grumpy.  Theo went back to bed, Mason stormed off with a screaming Woodrow and Max.  So...here's to grumpy Saturday mornings, hopefully some afternoon quiet time and refreshing outdoor time later.
