As soon as the weather started getting warm, Theo started asking about camping. We still aren't ready to venture out as a family of four to tent camp yet, but backyard camping is pretty great at this point. The kids love the family dinner, campfire in the firepit, s'mores, and sleeping in a tent.
The kids had so much fun setting up the tent with Mason and playing in the yard. Someone (me) let them play in the emergency bucket of water and got the stinkeye from someone else (Mason). But, my water babies had a blast! Since the sun doesn't set until 9:30/10:00pm in April, we got all cleaned up and let Theo stay up to watch some shows before retiring into the tent. Mason and Theo lasted longer in the tent this time (until 8am or so) and Woodrow and I enjoyed the comforts of our beds.
Theo is currently asking to go camping again, so there's a possibility that he and Mason actually might camp at a "destination location" this summer, but we will see-mosquitoes are pretty heinous up here and it stays light until 11pm.
