Halloween

I don't know where the inspiration came from, maybe a morning of eating Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls, or watching a commercial, but I somehow decided that Theo would make a SUPER-CUTE Pillsbury Doughboy.  I toyed around with mini Harry Potter (mostly because I've been reading the series), and my sister sent me a really cute picture of how to make a little boy costume that looks like the little old man from "Up", but that was too many accessories. 

In my family we have a history of "low-budget" costuming.  When I was little my mom bought a white sweatsuit that served a year as a snowman, a year as a bunny, and then more costumes for my sister.  We do "home made" costumes, which I recently had to clarify as more like, "home crafted/thrown together" costumes.  Low budget, yet funny and cute.

"A Stop Light" (Apparently, I'm thrilled)

But this year we decided to go with "Pillsbury Doughboy and 2 Cinnamon Rolls."  The hardest part of the costume was actually finding a hat for Theo, but it all worked out.  We went to a Halloween party with the people in our Thursday play group.  It was perfect because the kids got to play, and most of our husbands finally got to meet. We also went to a Fall Fest that was on base.  WE just walked around briefly because Theo was about 1 year to young, but he did get to pet (aka grab hold of) a chicken, and see some ducks, which he enjoyed. 

As for Halloween day, we didn't have many plans.  Theo and I carved our pumpkin an hour before trick or treating started.  He wasn't that in to it, I thought he'd like the gooey insides, but he was more in to playing with his mini pumpkin.   I decided that we weren't going to take Theo trick or treating, mostly because we usually make fun of people who take their little infants trick or treating, since that's mostly the parents in it for the candy then...we did have a few requests for Theo to come by friends houses, so we did stop by three houses in our neighborhood, and then we passed out candy at our house.

 Theo had fun (I think), and I already have a few ideas for next year.
