Theo at 8 months

So really, Theo is an amazing baby!  We are so lucky to have such a calm, easy going little guy.  Usually if he cries it is most definitely because he is hungry, needs a change, or is tired…or these days has tipped over and bonked his head!

Here’s how the little man is stacking up these days:

Height:  ~24 inches

Weight: ~ 19lbs (officially weigh in at the 9 month dr. appt)

Sleep: Still all night about 12-13 hours, and takes 1 longer nap and 1 shorter nap most days

Clothes:  Stylin in size 6 months or 6-0 months.  The climate in Shreveport is so hot that several 6 mo. shirts that were long sleeves got skipped over, although some mornings he gets to wear them since the AC has been on all night so cold.    

Foods:  3-4 bottles each day.  In pureed form- squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, green beans (only if mixed with some cereal and breast milk), sweet potato/corn, apple/blueberry, pears, banana, peaches, turkey/rice.  In itty-bitty form—watermelon, banana, mashed potatoes.  He is also eating rice rusks (little crackers), and various flavored puff crackers.  Those he is not a fan of—peas, a few shavings of meat seemed to be underwhelming, refried beans.    

Tricks/Milestones:  He is army crawling a little farther and faster…I’m not sure he’ll ever be on all fours.  Sitting up is much easier, although getting into the sitting position or back to the ground is still a challenge, but he’s almost got it.  He can hold his bottle on his own, and feed himself the smaller foods, and uses a spoon decently, some of the time.  Theo is babbling more and more and really has some sounds down, including ma-ma-ma, da-da-da, la-la-la, and growling.  He’s also pretty decent sitting up in the grocery carts- or buggy as we say in the South, and in high chairs. Graduated daycare and is now a stay at home baby. 

 

Favorite Pastimes: singing, talking, eating, chewing on his feet…and anything else, banging objects together to make a noise, baths, swimming, reading, watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune

Theo got to meet his Grandpa Dave and Great-Grandma Carole for the first time this weekend (which warrants another blog post), and he went swimming at the base pool for the first time. 

Next month will be a huge shocker when he’s been out as long as he was in the belly!  Love every moment with Theo.
