Gators and Friends

In December we were lucky to have my sister, Jill, visit.  This adventure deserved it's own posting.  It's always a little hard to take visitors to do different things in Shreveport, because there's not that much to do.  Something that has been on our "to do" list since we moved here, was to go to Gators and Friends.  It's a park where they have lots of alligators and our friends all have pictures of the massive feeding frenzie that occurs.  We thought this would be fun to do with Jill.

The "park" is about thirty minutes from our house, and we went on a pretty nice day.  Turns out the gators weren't feeding in December, so we were glad that lots of "friends" were out to see in the park.  We saw a few gators, but nothing like what we've seen pictures of.  The rest of the area had several small animals that you could feed, and touch.  Theo really enjoyed checking out all the different animals, and letting them sniff him.  We didn't get any food, but the animals still came plenty close for us to pet and see.

They did have a baby alligator that they brought out and you could hold and take pictures with.  Jill and I weren't brave enough to hold the gator, so Mason did the holding for both of our photos.  The gator started squirming in the second photo- he was very brave!  I for sure would have dropped the thing.

A good visit, especially for little ones that like animals.  It was a little expensive, but another recommended Shreveport activity.
