Wichita Mountains Part Tres

Mason and I took yesterday off from studying and grading and decided to head up to the Wichita Mountains. We had gone in November, and Mason was back once since with some of the guys in his class. We wanted to take advantage of the BEAUTIFUL weather. It was about 80-85F and sunny. The mountains are about an hour north of us, near Lawton, OK. On the way we stopped at a jewelers in Lawton to have our wedding rings cleaned and inspected...but once at the mountains, we enjoyed the wildlife and different scenery. It seems like there is so much to discover up there.

Last time we found a mountain and just hiked to the top and around the rim. Yesterday, we went on a path by a river, and were able to climb up high and then down to the river and all around. It was pretty amazing! I fell in the river at one point while trying to cross it, and Mason fell another time. We both got some nasty cuts from the rocks and are a little sore today, but enjoyed the time relaxing. We had dinner at a small restaurant know for their huge burgers up there, but I had brisket and Mason had ribs. He was in his glory. While he only got 4 ribs, they were foot-long beef ribs from a longhorn. Definitely an interesting experience.
