If you're looking for the "Maximus is 6 months" post, you didn't miss it. I slacked and this will be a memory for his "third child" list. Time just seems to be flying by and while we aren't all that busy, the varying schedules of three little people, a husband, and myself make the days pass quickly.
At Max's 6 month well-visit he was 16 lbs. and 27 inches long. The doctor was concerned that his weight wasn't keeping up with his height and I assured her that he was eating plenty. Max is wearing size 6 month/6-9 month clothing and size 2 diapers. He did get back to only waking up about once a night which was better than the 2-3 times a night he had been doing for awhile. Max is drinking about 28-32oz of breastmilk a day and we introduced "solids" to him in the 6th month. Sweet potatoes were here favorite and squash and peas were not as well liked. Although Max does win the award for the child to eat the most peas/green beans out of all the boys.
We borrowed a bumbo from a friend and so Max has started sitting up assisted and he likes the change of scenery. He was also rolling everywhere! He loves to grab on to books and interacting with his brothers.
In Max's 7th month he's just really grown quite a bit. He's definitely in the 6/6-9 month clothes and isn't squeezing into the 3-6 month clothes any more. At night time we switched him to the Pampers Baby Dry size 3 diapers which have helped lessen him waking up soaked from the amount of pee in the middle of the night.
Max has gotten much better with eating and has expanded his repertoire. Sweet potato, carrots, and banana are his favorites. He is so-so with squash/peas/green beans, but he does like apples, banana, and we're starting to try some of the stage two food which has more combinations. He is really good at picking up yogurt bites and puffs, but doesn't automatically put them in his mouth so we're working on that skill. He does seem to find the sign language we're using with eating amusing, and he turns his head away or spits his food when he is done. We're working on adding food 2-3 times a day to stretch out our breastmilk supply.
Max is MOBILE! It's a huge milestone for him and I just don't remember this stage as clearly with Theo and Woodrow. Max will get up on all fours, rock, and has started to crawl a little on all fours, but he for sure can army crawl/roll wherever he needs to get and he is in to everything! We never "baby-proofed" much with the other two boys, but this weekend we put in the outlet plugs and will be hiding wires. He goes straight for the wires, outlets, small toys left behind, and the window cords. This boy is going to keep me on my toes. He is sitting for longer periods on his own, but not more than several seconds. Maximus loves to play in the bouncer, take walks, and baths.
Poor Maximus, as the third little guy naps and sleep are very up in the air. He sleeps when he can. Fortunately he is a good car seat napper since we are on the go a lot. He has mostly gotten back to sleeping through the night, so usually he is tired around 11am and ready for a nap. I try to nap him while Theo is at preschool and then he usually takes a shorter late afternoon nap on a walk or at the park. I'm hoping to institute more "quiet time" this summer for all the boys most days.
Theo and Woodrow are awesome big brothers. Theo is a HUGE helper. He loves to hold Max and take care of him and Woodrow has really started to interact with Max much more the last month. I hope they always remain best friends.
