Theo turned three-and-a-half at the end of March, and since he isn't getting the monthly update posts anymore, I figured he still deserves his own special posting. What a blessing this sweet, opinionated, boy is to our family! Theo teaches me so much about life and being a mom, that sometimes I don't feel I'm doing my best.
Theo is growing! He recently got a Daniel Tiger book with a removable height chart in it, so Mason hung it in his room and he's 3 feet 4 inches tall! He's starting to grow out of his 3T clothes, and is ready to move on to the next bucket of clothes-although fortunately with the warm weather around the corner, I think he'll be able to wear 3T shorts this summer, since he has such a skinny little waist, but he's tall so he usually has the high-water effect going on.
Theo is quite the talker! He will now talk to almost everyone, just about anything. If he's really excited he'll talk in his "loud voice" and so fast he's literally stumbling over the words as they are trying to get out. Theo is always full of questions and wondering "why," and Theo won't just go for any answer, he wants actual correct answers.
My sweet boy would look at books all day long if he could. He has so many books in his room, and often he'll spend all of nap time (or rest time as it seems more these days) he'll "read" a huge stack of books. He's always using his flashlight to read in his room.
Theo also enjoys doing anything you call a "project." He's really in to arts and crafts, painting, and playing with clay. He also loves to mail his projects to people and receive mail and magazines. Theo also is into playing with his trains, building with legos, and doing ANYTHING with Mason. He likes to go to the gym with Mason, and play outside, camp, collect sticks for his firepit. There's no doubt that my boys are enamored with their Daddy.
Theo's been learning so much this year! My friends and I started a preschool co-op and the kids meet twice a week for 2 hours. Theo really enjoys getting to go to all of his friends houses and doing projects. He's learned most of his letter sounds this year, and can name words that start with each letter. He's also been writing his name lately, and it looks really good for a 3 year old. My goal in the next few weeks is to really focus with him on the lower-case letters. He knows most of them, but is still confused with a handful of them. He is looking forward to going to "town preschool" next year.
My little man has been taking gymnastics classes for the past 6 months and he's been improving a lot. They had a little show this past week, and he didn't fall off the balance beam at all (it's only 6 inches off the ground), and he got a medal. He was so proud, and excited that Mason got to come see his tricks. He also has attended a few science classes that are offered up here, and he's really enjoyed that.
I'm really proud of Theo and all that he's been accomplishing lately. He's a smart little cookie and isn't going to put up with anything he thinks is unfair. We love our Theodore!
